Mr. Shock graduated from Kutztown University in 2008 with an undergraduate degree in Citizenship Education. In 2014 he completed his Masters of Education degree at Cabrini University. Currently Mr. Shock is enrolled at Edinboro University's Principal Certificate program.

Mr. Shock's teaching career began in 2008 at Solanco High School where he taught 9th grade World History. In 2009 he moved to Oxford Area School District where he began teaching 9th grade American History and Honors American History. Beginning in 2010 Mr. Shock also began teaching Advanced Placement European History, which was Oxford's second AP level course in the Social Studies Department. As of 2018 Mr. Shock is currently teaching Honors American History, Advanced Placement European History and AC American History.

Mr. Shock is a club soccer coach at Southern Chester County Soccer Association. He has been coaching soccer since 2009.

Mr. Shock resides in West Chester with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
