•  As you’ve likely heard, the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (J & J) COVID-19 vaccine received FDA emergency use authorization on February 27. The Governor is prioritizing the J & J vaccine for school personnel and contractors.

    We are expecting the first round of doses to be delivered to Chester County late next week. Currently we are slated to receive 184 doses for the first round.

    Below, you will find a survey link and password complete regarding vaccination status. Every OASD staff member and contractor MUST complete the survey whether or not they intend to get the vaccine at the IU Vaccine Clinic. Surveys must be completed and submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5 to be considered for the initial round of Johnson and Johnson vaccinations. Any staff member who does not complete the survey by Friday at 5:00 p.m. will not be eligible to get vaccine through the IU vaccination clinics.

     The Department of Education (PDE) has determined staff priority for the first round of vaccines as follows and in this order:

    1.      Pre-K through grade 12 teachers of students with disabilities and English learners and related in-classroom support staff;

    2.      Elementary teachers and related in-classroom support staff; beginning with the youngest students;

    3.      Bus drivers/transporters, food service, and other support staff and contracted service providers who have direct contact with elementary students; and

    4.      Other priority school staff who have regular, sustained in-person contact with students during the school day.

    Please note, school personnel are NOT moving into Group in 1A; they are still in 1B. If you are on another vaccine provider list because you qualify for 1A, please stay on the list until you are vaccinated at the clinic or by means of the list you are on.

    The first rounds of vaccines will be distributed beginning next week at the Technical College High School (TCHS) Brandywine campus. Exact dates and times for scheduling vaccine registration will be emailed to those who qualify for the first wave. When we receive the second wave, likely sometime in early April, every OASD employee/contractor who wants to will have the opportunity to be vaccinated.
