BSED MED in Educational Leadership
Mrs. Gina Schell
Welcome to my page!
Teaching has been a passion of mine ever since I could remember. I started my career back in 2002, after I graduated from West Chester University with a B.Ed in Education. I put a few years in as a daily substitute for the OASD, building a rapport with faculty and students. It was in 2003 when I was offered a long-term position as a 5th grade teacher. The following year I found myself teaching 3rd grade at Nottingham. I eventually settled down at Elk Ridge teaching 6th grade and followed our teachers and administration over to our new building, Hopewell Elementary. I currently teach 6th grade Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies. Continuing my education in 2007, I earned a M.E.D. in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University, however, I am not planning on leaving the classroom any time soon.
This past year has been extremely busy for me! I got engaged, had a wedding, and purchased my first home. My husband and I reside in the borough of West Chester and love walking into town to enjoy the sights, frequent all of the quaint little shops, and sample food from all of the tasty restaurants. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (probably not a surprise), cooking and baking for my friends and family, and restoring and repurposing old furniture.
I hope to pass along my passion for learning to each and every one of my students. Together, as a team, we can help your child succeed!!
