David S. Trimble, Ph.D.

Dr. David Trimble has called Oxford home for over a decade. David currently works in the aerospace industry, previously taught college-level chemistry, and was employed at Swarthmore College. He looks forward to applying many years of experience working with professional chemistry organizations and scientific advisory boards to being a successful team member of the Oxford School Board.

David is proud that his youngest child is a graduate of Oxford Area High School and Cecil College through the Early College Academy. David believes that our students deserve strong public schools with high standards, a balanced curriculum in science, the arts, and humanities, and real opportunities—both academic and vocational—that lead to fulfilling careers. Together, we can all create the best learning environment for all of our children.

David has a passion for gardening (vegetable, annual, and perennial) and landscaping, and cannot wait to spend more time getting dirty as he anticipates retirement in the next few years.  As an amateur genealogist, he has discovered much about his Ulster-Scots and his Mennonite roots, most of which settled in Delaware and Montgomery Counties. On the weekends, David can often be found in his backyard working on any number of projects – sometimes he even finishes one before starting another!
