Mrs. Kim Lewin
I have been teaching for over 20 years. My first contracted teaching position took me four hours south to Charles County, Maryland. I had the privilege of teaching a fourth-grade inclusion classroom. After two successful years of classroom instruction I was called into various positions in Charles County, including a role in the Leadership Institute through the MD Department of Education. My Master's Degree was awarded in 2002 in Leadership and Administration with Library Media Certification from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. I collaborated on positions of leadership within the library field as I served on the County Consortium for Library Media Specialists. I continued to teach Pre-K through grade five in library and research skills. After having a child in 2006, I longed to be closer to family and made my way north to the Oxford Area School District. I continue to grow as an educator pursuing post-master's credits in administration and technology through the University of Colorado. As a part-time, kindergarten library specialist, I feel I have the greatest job in education. It is an amazing, creative, and rewarding job instructing five and six-year-old children in the adventures that wait for them in a library!
I am also very fortunate to be the volunteer coordinator for the Oxford Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization that has provided mentors, tutors, classroom volunteers and grant money to the OASD for over 25 years.
