Kids First, Progress and Unity


  • American Education Week – November 12th-16th, 2018- presents all Americans with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education.  This year’s theme is “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility, “and will be reflected in special activities each weekday.

    Monday, November 12th, Kickoff Day- Students will compose a "thank you" letter to the person who has made a difference in their education.                      

    Tuesday, November 13th, Parents/Guardian Day- Parents and/or Guardians will be invited to come to their child’s classroom and share/read a    story with their child at the teacher’s grade level designated time.

    Wednesday, November 14th, Education Support Professionals Day – Creative Card Campaign – Students/Teachers will create a "thank you" message/card for Nottingham’s Education Support Professionals for all they do. (Instructional Aides, Cafeteria support, Custodians, secretaries, crossing guards, bus drivers etc.)

    Thursday, November 15th, Educator for a Day-  Students can share their ideas with school administrators. Create a short essay titled "What I would do if I were principal."

    Friday, November 16th, Substitute Educators Day- Acknowledge all our Education Substitutes for their hardoword, flexibility and patience.
