Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science Elementary Education 1991 Master of Education 1992
I was born and raised in Central Florida. At the age of 10, I began riding horses. I competed and trained horses as I worked to earn my Masters Degree in Education from the University of Florida in 1992. I moved to Pennsylvania in 1996 to pursue my equestrian career with an Olympic rider. After a few years of riding 8-10 horses daily, I decided it was time to use that degree I had worked so hard to obtain. I started as a substitute as I worked towards earning my PA certificate. I was married in March of 1999 and was hired by Oxford Area School District that fall to teach first grade at Jordan Bank. The following year, I moved over to Nottingham to teach second grade. In March of 2004 my son, Jac was born, changing my life forever. After 7 years with second grade, I had the opportunity to loop with my class to third grade and I have been here since! I truly love watching children transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn". I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year as we reach for the stars!
