Marvin the Colorful Monster
Congratulations to OASD's Mrs. Verikakis, who recently published a children's book Marvin the Colorful Monster!
Marvin, his family, and his school community can change colors based on the food they eat. He, his family, and his classmates eat unhealthy foods each day. Ms. Weatherbee, Marvin’s teacher, introduces the students to the food pyramid. She explains how monsters can trade in unhealthy foods and eat protein, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products and still be their favorite color. Will Marvin, his family, and friends embrace healthy foods?

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
Join our OAHS students for this frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

Dear Oxford Staff and Families,
Oxford Area School District was notified by our student information system vendor, PowerSchool, that they had experienced a cybersecurity incident. An unauthorized party gained access to PowerSchool’s support system and accessed our student information system for limited information on students and staff. Our district was notified along with many other PowerSchool customers on January 7th and immediately engaged in our cybersecurity response. We are working with our partners to verify the details of the incident and will promptly notify any stakeholder affected by this incident.
PowerSchool has taken the following steps to prevent further access to our information:
- Worked with industry-leading cybersecurity response teams to identify and diagnose the compromised account.
- Verify the incident has been contained, with no evidence of malware or ongoing unauthorized activity.
- Deactivated the compromised credentials, reset all passwords, and strengthened access controls for the affected portal.
- Engaged law enforcement and third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate and respond to the situation.
We will communicate more information as it is available but want to be transparent to our community as more information on this incident is released.

Good evening Oxford Area Community,
The OASD administration has been made aware of a work stoppage impacting our largest food service distributor. Our dedicated professionals are diligently working to rewrite appropriate menus for the remainder of this week. Please be assured that students will continue to have access to healthy, nutritious meals during this disruption. Updated menus will be posted below as soon as they become available.
