  • OAHS teacher wins district Heart of Learning Award

    Oxford Area High School mathematics teacher Nicole Wiltrout is the Oxford Area School District’s recipient of the 2021 Citadel Heart of Learning Award sponsored by Citadel Federal Credit Union and the Chester County Intermediate Unit.

  • Interact, EarlyAct chapters induct new members

    The Oxford Area High School chapter of Interact and the EarlyAct chapters at Penn’s Grove and Hopewell Elementary schools recently came together virtually to hold ceremonies to induct new members and install officers. Interact and EarlyAct are sponsored by local Rotary Clubs through Rotary International and welcome students at all grade levels who are interested in serving their school and community. Each school year members of Interact and EarlyAct plan and organize three projects to benefit their school, local and global communities.

  • OAHS students celebrate Read Across America

    On March 2, the OAHS chapter of the National English Honor Society joined members of National Honor Society, the Reading Olympics team, and the school Book Club to virtually visit students at Jordan Bank, Elk Ridge, Nottingham, and Hopewell elementary schools to read a Dr. Seuss book and conduct a class activity. Over 30 high school students participated to visit approximately 70 elementary classrooms!

  • OAHS Science National Honor Society inducts new members

    On February 25 the Oxford Area High School chapter of Science National Honor Society (SNHS) held its third annual induction and the first to be done virtually. To qualify for SNHS membership, a student must be a junior or senior and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, a science GPA of 3.0 or higher, be currently enrolled in an honors, AP or highest-level available science course, and have taken or is currently taking two honors-level science courses. This year's inductees are seniors Gavrielle Goldie and Elizabeth Smoker and juniors Madison Baumgardner, Garrett Brady, Sarah DeMonia, Campbell Fleming, Samantha Dunlap, Mia Gerrard, Gabrielle Gold, Zoey Jarrett-Weaver, Jordan Kane, Gina Martinelli, Victoria Milburn, Daniel Nowland, Abby Oliver, Neha Patel, Rachel Sedlak, Bailey Shover, Ryan Topmiller and Emiliano Zetune. SNHS senior officers are Nick Marker, president; Isabel Hernandez, vice-president; Nicole Morlang, treasurer; Summer Deutel, secretary and Kate Lilly, public relations. Christina Peterson is the chapter's faculty advisor.

  • National English Honor Society visits Jenner's Pond

    On February 17, six members of the Oxford Area High School chapter of National English Honor Society visited residents of the Jenner's Pond Retirement Community. The students read poems by famous Black authors and others in honor of Black History Month.
