Prior to coming to Oxford Area School District in July 2013, Dr. Margaret Billings-Jones, Ed.D.,served ten years as superintendent of the Lakeland School District being twice nominated by the board presidents as Superintendent of the Year. She also served four years as a Director of Pupil Personnel at Abington Heights, the department under her leadership earned the annual President's Award, whose recipient is chosen by graduating seniors as being the staff member who has helped them most during their high school years. She began her career in education coordinating psycho-educational programs in both the elementary level and then the secondary level overseeing pre-vocational programming. She served students as a guidance counselor, department chairperson and special services supervisor.

Dr. Billings-Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in both psychology and human services, a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling and school counseling certification from the University of Scranton. She earned a doctorate in educational administration from Temple University, where she was awarded the Russell Conwell Fellowship for academic excellence. Dr. Billings-Jones's authored research is The Relationship of Intelligence with Self-Concept, Social Skills, School Achievement, and Academic Performance for Gifted and Non-Gifted Students. In the past, Dr.Billings-Jones served as an adjunct professor at Marywood and Temple Universities.

She is a member of numerous professional organizations and was elected and served as South Abington Township Auditor. Additionally, she has delivered many public presentations including local, state and national levels. Dr. Billings-Jones takes pride in elevating students' achievement and providing educational programming that expands opportunities for students to increase attainment of their future goals. Dr. Billings-Jones and her husband have five sons.
