Oxford Area High School Distinguished Alumni
The Oxford Area High School Distinguished Alumni Program was established in 2006 to ensure that the lives and achievements of Oxford's most accomplished graduates will be forever known among fellow graduates, current and future high school students, and the Oxford community. A luncheon in honor of each year's inductees is held each spring and is followed by a ceremony attended by the high school student body. An area of the school’s main rotunda serves as a space for portraits of the honorees.
The Distinguished Alumni program is coordinated by a committee whose members are responsible for gathering information on and researching potential honorees, and formulating a preliminary list of nominees for each year's Distinguished Alumni class. Nominees are chosen based on professional, academic or military achievements and service to their community, whether in Oxford or elsewhere. Nominees must have graduated 10 or more years prior to their selection. The final inductees are chosen by committee consensus.
The Distinguished Alumni Committee welcomes suggestions from the community for consideration as future nominees. Suggestions may be made by mail to Distinguished Alumni Committee, Oxford Area High School, 705 Waterway Road, Oxford, PA 19363.
