    Promoting Student Wellness
The Oxford Area School District integrates wellness activities throughout the entire school environment (district-wide), not just in the cafeterias, other food and beverage venues, and physical activity facilities. The District will coordinate and integrate other initiatives related to physical activity, physical education, nutrition, and other wellness components, so all efforts are complimentary, not duplicated, and work toward the same set of goals and objectives promoting student well-being, optimal development, and strong educational outcomes. The objective of the OASD Wellness Council is to research and identify best practices related to improving student health. Through the use of various communication channels, the Wellness Council will educate our students and community about health and wellness to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Wellness involves the awareness of our current state of health in multiple dimensions with initiative, tools, and support to make lasting changes toward a more optimal life. Wellness is the pursuit of your best possible health and well-being. It is an overall balance of your physical, social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, environmental, and occupational well-being. Health is a goal one can achieve, while wellness is a dynamic concept that continues for a lifetime.
