Oxford Guidance Career and College Planning Program
Oxford Area School District completed a comprehensive K-12 counseling curriculum during the 2015-16 school year. The program was completed in compliance and aligned to the Pennsylvania Chapter 339. The 339 Plan was developed with administrative oversight of the district's K-12 guidance counseling department. The state consultant assisted the district in the entire process. An advisory committee, including business representatives, parents and community organizations worked with district staff and school board representatives to develop a program that meets the needs of all students in the district. The plan will remain in the curriculum cycle and will be analyzed and evaluated for effectiveness. An annual review of the 339 Plan will be conducted; additions, or revisions will be made as needed.
The video link below presents a close look at the changing societal demands on students' preparation for college and career. The Oxford Area 339 Plan of services that are to be offered to all students in grades K-12 is also posted for review. If you have any questions, each building guidance department and building administrator can assist you. Further questions may be addressed to the assistant superintendent.
