    Hi Everyone!

Parents- Thank you to everyone that has responded to my email. If you haven't already done so, please reply when you are able! It sounds like some people are having trouble with their ST Math. It's hard to diagnose the problem from here, but I can tell you that when there is an issue at school, clearing the browser data seemed to work. I hope this helps!

I'd love to see pictures of how you all are keeping busy during this time! I miss you all and hearing all your stories!

    Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all doing well! What kinds of thing are you finding to do to keep busy? How far along are you on ST Math? That's going to be a lot of Hornet Bucks!

Has anyone tried Study Island? I will be adding a few more assignments on there for both reading and math, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

I will also be adding more reading passages and prompts, because if you have been doing one every day, you will be ready for new ones soon!

Here is another set of challenges for the day!

    Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to remind everyone that they should be reading at least 20 minutes a day! After reading, you should respond to one of the reading prompts. You should also be working in the math packet (old or new), writing a response each day, as well as responding to the March reading prompt questions. You should also be going online and playing ST Math, doing Study Island, and doing Edmentum. I am reposting the original directions that were sent home in your folder!

    1.    Each day, please read for 20 min. (at least J).

    2.   After reading, choose one box from the reading response menus.

    -      Write one paragraph to respond to the question.

    -      Make sure to put the date and the title of your book along with your response.

    3.   Complete one reading worksheet per day.

    -      Read questions first

    -      Read text 2 times!

    -      Highlight or underline the answers in the text

    -      Answer the questions in complete sentences

    Writing

    1.    Choose one writing response box every day.

    2.   Respond to the prompt in a complete paragraph.

    3.   Make sure you use CAPITALS, punctuation (.!?), and answer in complete sentences.

    Hello everyone!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! What was the best part of your weekend? I got to go away to a cabin and see so many stars, it was so beautiful. I was thinking of our story, Seeing Stars!

I hope most of you have finished the math packet by now. Here is a link to a new packet for you to work on. If you are unable to print it out, you can just write your answers down on a separate piece of paper. Be sure to try and show your work, and not just guess!

    Math Packet

Please continue to read for 20 minutes a day and respond to your prompt. I'd love to see some of your answers for writing or reading! If you are able, take a picture of your favorite answer and send it to me!

Here is our next chapter for our read aloud.

    Hi everyone!

Welcome to another day! I hope you are keeping up with your reading, writing, and math. Remember, you have options to do the packets, ST Math, Edmentum, or Study Island! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Hello everyone, welcome to the new blog page!

I will use this to update with any new and interesting information! I have included the information from the "March 2020 Updates" page in a separate blog post. I will also still be responding to emails and comments.

In case day one was a struggle, at the bottom of this post I have included a picture of a suggested schedule you could follow! Feel free to use the suggestions or try your own.

I would like to hear from you if you are checking the webpage! Comment below (with your name) if you are reading this, and let me know how your first day was! My first day was good, but I definitely miss being in the classroom. I also have been eating more (too many) snacks while I'm at home!

I also have started a read aloud! Please enjoy a chapter each day. It should only be between 5-10 minutes each day (short chapters), so it will be a quick check in. Let me know what you think!

I hope this message finds you well rested and healthy! Along with our online resources that are provided through the Clever accounts (Edmentum, ST Math, and Study Island), I wanted to share with you another link that will be useful in these upcoming weeks.

Even when schools are closed, you can keep the learning going with these special cross-curricular journeys. Every day includes four separate learning experiences, each built around a thrilling, meaningful story or video. Kids can do them on their own, with their families, or with their teachers. Just find your grade level and let the learning begin!

    Dear Parents,

In the event of a school closure due to the proactive district approach to COVID-19, I am sending home a folder with work for students to complete a bit of each day. (I have also shared the directions below.)

In addition, I have assigned online tasks for students. Students know how to log into Clever and access ST Math, Edmentum, and Study Island. (Once they are logged into Study Island, they click on "My Classes." I have posted assignments under the Language Arts and Math classes)

Also, please be sure to continue to check our OASD website, Nottingham's website,  and my class website for updates. All before and after school activities and extracurriculars are canceled/postponed until April 13th
