Mrs. Shelderfer
My name is Diane Shelderfer and I am a Learning Support Teacher. I have spent my entire teaching career here at Nottingham. This is my 24th year of teaching. Throughout the years I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade Learning Support. I have also worked in a co-teaching classroom for several years. I am currently teaching third grade. I have known that I wanted to be a special education teacher ever since I did my first volunteer opportunity as a high school senior. It was during that experience that I first realized I had a passion for helping struggling learners. I absolutely love having the opportunity to help build children's confidence and watch them grow into independent thinkers.
Education
I graduated from West Chester University in 1997 with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education. I received my Masters Degree of Science Education from Neumann University in 2002.
Family
I have been married for almost 20 years (in June) to my husband Bob. We have 3 beautiful daughters ranging in age from 21 to 16. My oldest daughter, Kylie, is a senior at West Chester University. My middle daughter, Nikki, is a senior in high school. She is currently beginning the college application process. My youngest daughter, Jessie, is a junior in high school. She is a member of the cross country and track teams. We have three dogs, Bailey, Champ, and Milo.
I LOVE watching my daughters participate in their favorite activities. In our spare time (which isn't much) we enjoy camping, hiking, riding bikes, traveling and boating. One of my favorite hobbies is taking pictures. When I am able to fit it into our schedule, I enjoy coaching my daughter’s sports teams. So far I have coached Girls on the Run and basketball.
