World Book Online This is an online encyclopedia by World Book. This is a great resource when you are doing research! See Mrs. Pongracz to get the username and password.
Khan Academy Thousands of free resources for multiple subject areas, but mainly math, science, and technology
POWER Library This is a database of databases and can provide you with loads of information for any project you might be doing. Each database within POWER Library is a little different, so make sure you read the descriptions carefully. However, one of the best databases for 5th and 6th grades is Kid InfoBits.
- To access this very useful tool from school, click on the Favorites tab in Internet Explorer. Then select Power Library. Choose the database that you think will work best meet your information need.
- To access this tool from home, go to the Chester County Public Library website listed above. Under the red "Find a Resource" tab, select databases. Click on POWER Library and then the POWER Library icon on the next page. Enter your library card number.
Expect to find information on countries all over the world on this government-owned website.
