Mrs. Jackie Mavrelos
Welcome. Oxford has been my home and place of work since 2001. In 1999 I graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies and a minor in History. I began my first teaching position as a Social Studies teacher in 2002 teaching 9th grade American History. Over six years, I continued to teach 9th grade American History, then began teaching Freshman Seminar and AP US History. I stepped out of the full-time classroom in 2008 when my husband and I had our child, Kolton. For roughly six years I worked as a daily and long-term substitute. In 2015, I began my current position as Gifted Support Teacher at the high school. I am the instructor of Gifted Seminar classes and Gifted Independent Project classes. In spring of 2017 I completed a Masters of Education: Gifted and Talented Education and have put much of what I learned from that program into daily practice in the classroom.
In addition to my responsibilities as a teacher and case manager, I serve on the OAHS SAP Team.
