Mr. Scott Wooddell
I have been teaching in the Oxford Area School District since the summer of 2005. Before that I taught for twelve years in the Baltimore County Public School district in Maryland. During my career I have taught sixth grade math, seventh grade math, PreAlgebra, Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, College Algebra, PreCalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, SAT Math Review, PSSA Math Review, Introduction to Computer Science, PASCAL Programming, Computer Science Essentials, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, and Cybersecurity. I have also worked as a Technology Coach and Teacher for the Gifted in the district. From 2001 until 2006, I was an adjunct professor at the Community College of Baltimore County, teaching Algebra, College Algebra, Introductory Statistics, and Calculus I. From 2007 until 2009, I taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and AP Statistics online at Keystone Online High School. I currently serve as an adjunct instructor of Computer Science at Cecil College and Wilmington University.
I graduated from Towson State University in 1992 with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with concentrations in Applied Mathematics and Secondary Education. In 2003, I completed a Masters of Science in Mathematics Education at Towson University. I have also participated in the Governor's Academy for Mathematics and Science Education as well as being recognized as a Keystone Technology Innovator. Over the years, I have completed numerous graduate and inservice courses on a variety of topics such as special education, gifted & talented education, reading, technology integration, computer science, and online teaching and learning. I have completed training as a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) instructor for Computer Science. In 2018 I was recognized as the recipient of the Citadel Heart of Learning Award for the Oxford Area School District.
My wife and I have been happily married since 1995 and have two children. We live in Cecil County, Maryland and enjoy spending time together as a family doing many activities. My hobbies include camping/RVing, visiting National Parks, model railroading and computer programming.
