Mrs. Golden-Mirarchi
Hello and Welcome to Penn's Grove Library!
I am very happy to serve as the Librarian at Penn's Grove! I have been in education for 18 years, first appointed as an English instructor in the Pocono Area, then as a Middle School English teacher in Philadelphia where I also took on School Library responsibilities. Through this role, I turned an inoperative space into a functioning school library for a K-8 school in Philadelphia. During my teaching years in Philadelphia, I served as a Consulting Educator and Supervisor for our school's Drexel University Partnership where I provided training to Drexel undergraduate students who were aspiring educators.
For the last five years of my tenure in Philadelphia, I worked in district administration for Federal Programs (specifically management of Title I, II, and III), and grant compliance of federal and private grants at the district and school levels, working closely with district leadership in implementing district-wide initiatives and annual compliance reviews from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). In this role, I oversaw all grant funds (federal and private) for a caseload of 23 schools and for the offices of the Superintendent, Curriculum and Instruction, Teaching and Learning, Professional Development, and Multilingual Programs, providing oversight, leadership, and compliance reviews of an annual multi-million-dollar budget (among Title I, II, IIB, III funds, IDEA-B, and private grant awards).
My experience also stems into wonderful opportunities working with museums and cultural institutions in the Philadelphia and Chester County area. I have worked specifically with the Philadelphia Museum of Art for nearly a decade, have designed lessons for educational purposes on the Sphinx of Ramses II (University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology), and have harvested data for grant and marketing initiatives for the Academy of Natural Sciences and the Chester County Historical Society, among other institutions.
I have earned undergraduate degrees in Secondary Education and English from Temple University in 2006 and earned a master's in Museum Studies/Communications from the University of the Arts in 2010 where I had a wonderful opportunity to expand my knowledge on program management, budget, and administration for non-profits while also learning how to care for priceless art and artifacts, catalog vast collections, and design captivating programming that align to common core educational standards. In 2023, I completed my second master's degree and have earned an M.Ed. from Cabrini University, completing coursework as an Educational Specialist, with a concentration in ESL.
I am thrilled to have joined our wonderful Oxford School District as the Librarian at Penn's Grove. I know that the previous librarian, Ms. Wagoner, has left a legacy at Penn's Grove- one that I am proud and honored to continue. I have found that our students have a wonderful spark for learning and I immensely enjoy the opportunity to guide our students in the library on the hunt for their next great read.
When not in the library, I can be found hiking on the trails, visiting a museum, and spending time with my family (We have a lively 6-year-old at home who keeps us quite busy)!
The love of reading is one of the most important gifts we can give to our youth; please reach out if there is any way we can help you or your child!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Golden-Mirarchi
