Welcome to Penn’s Grove! It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the 7th grade Sycamore Team social studies teacher. I have been with the Oxford Area School District since 2005.
I am anticipating an exciting year of growth and learning. I'd like to provide a brief overview of some of the requirements and expectations for my class this year.

Pearson American History: myWorld Interactive
This is an online curriculum program for instruction and student assignments. Students will use their school iPads to access material and complete assignments.
Supplies: Students are expected to come to class prepared daily. They will need:
A one-inch three-ring Binder, Lined notebook paper, Pencils, A charged iPad, Earbuds, completed assignments, and a positive attitude
Grading: Grades are calculated on a point basis using this formula:
70% - Performance Assessments – Tests, quizzes, and skill-based performance measures
20% - Formative Assessments – Class work, in-class assignments, class participation, and other in-class measures
Not more than 10% - Homework - For classes where Homework will count less than 10%, the remaining percentage will be added to Performance Assessments.
Letter grades are given quarterly according to district policy:
A+ 97-100 B+ 87-89 C+ 77-79 D+ 67-69
A 93-96 B 83-86 C 73-76 D 65-66
A - 90-92 B- 80-82 C- 70-72 F 0-64
Absences:
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO RESCHEDULE ANY MISSED QUIZZES OR TESTS DUE TO ABSENCE FROM CLASS.
STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF DAYS THEY WERE ABSENT TO MAKE UP MISSED WORK.
Behavioral Expectations:
A positive classroom environment is necessary to foster learning for all students. Students are expected to follow Penn’s Grove PRIDE and demonstrate respect, integrity, dependability, and empathy at all times.
Discipline Policy:
Students who break classroom or school rules or interfere with the education of others will receive:
