English Language Development is intended to advance English Language Learners' reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. In addition, students in the ELD program will also build their academic, organizational, and social skills in a supportive environment. Our overarching goal is to ensure academic achievement for an English Language Learner so he/she continues to progress and be successful without encountering difficulty as a result of English language skills.

Our English Language Development program uses the WIDA English Language Proficiency tests to place students according to where their proficiency level is. Once students are placed in the most beneficial class, they will receive English instruction to enhance their English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. 

Students will take the WIDA English Language Proficiency tests throughout the year to measure their progress.

• WIDA Screener - For students who are new to the US
• WIDA Model - Beginning of the Year and End of the Year
• WIDA ACCESS - Middle of the Year
