    Uploading Assignments to Teams

    Wednesday, April 15, 2020

Good morning!  Just a couple of notes...

Assignments are posted on both the Assignments tab for each content class in Teams AND on teach webpages.  We will be transitioning to Teams assigments only, but will continue to be in both places for now.

If your student is having issues with ST Math, please try following these steps:

Most of the time, clearing the browsing history will resolve ST Math issues:

     IF USING AN IPAD:

    1)     Double click the home button and close all opened apps, by swiping them away

    2)     Tap the Settings app from your home screen

    3)     Scroll down and then tap on the Safari icon

    4)     Scroll down to the bottom of the right hand column and tap the "Clear History and Website Data.

    5)     Confirm the clear history button

    6)     Open up and log into Clever

    7)     Select the ST Math icon to open

IF USING A DEVICE OTHER THAN AN IPAD:

The general goal above is the same - clear the browser history then try again.  The steps will be different depending on the device and the web browser commonly used.  Generally speaking:

    1. Open the web browser
    2. Open the browser history
    3. Locate and click the button to Clear History
    4. Open and log in to Clever
    5. Select ST Math to open.

If this still doesn't work, please let me know so that I can communicate the information to tech.  Thank you for your patience!

    Monday, 4/6/20

Happy Monday and welcome to live classes!

Please click here to review Guidelines for Virtual Meetings for all students.

The following are instructions for logging in to Microsoft Teams (Live classes):

    1. Teams was remotely downloaded to the school iPad.  If you are using a personal device, you will need to download it first. Once it's on your device, continue below.
    2. Double click on the Microsoft Teams icon if you’re on a laptop/desktop (or just click on it once on the iPad)
    3. It will prompt your child to sign in.  They need to type in their username and add @oxfordasd.org to the end of it.  It’s their first three initials of their first name, the first three initials of their last name, and two numbers.  For example, my username would be: LynKri53@oxfordasd.org
    4. Click the “Sign in” button and then it will take you to a screen for their password.  Students should know their password since they have been using it all year long.
    5. After putting in the password, click “Sign in” and it should take you to Microsoft Teams.  Go ahead and work through the notifications and allow push notifications so students get their invites for these LIVE sessions.
    6. Once your child is logged in, there is a CALENDAR app along the left-hand side of the screen (desktops/laptops) or along the bottom of the screen if using the iPad.
    7. Once they click the CALENDAR button, they should see that I have invited them to their first LIVE ELA class.  At the scheduled class time, they just need to click on the lcoass and then click on “JOIN MEETING.”  That will take them to their meeting.

As always, let us know if you have any issues.

**If you are having difficulty accessing the math text online, please review these directions.  Also posted on the math page.

For today, our triad will participate in live classes for ELA and Art.  Science and Math assignments will be posted on this website as has been done these past 3 weeks.

    Happy April Fool's Day!

Anyway, there are updates to the district website regarding future instruction, so please check the main page regularly for information.  As of this writing, Monday, April 6th and Tuesday, April 7th will be school days (make up sessions for 3/17th and 3/18th). Riddles

If you have a riddle that you'd like to share, please email it and I'll post it!

    Yearbooks

While school doesn't "look" like it has traditionally, please know that all teachers and staff are hard at work to keep us all moving forward. In fact, Mrs. Shahadi has posted a link on her website if you'd still like to place an order.  Also she would like you to take pictures of yourself working on school work from home and email them to me (lkrivansky@oxfordasd.org) or her directly (cshahadi@oxfordasd.org ), so that they can be included in the yearbook.  While school is a bit nontraditional right now, it is a part of our school year.

BooksDon't forget that students can access ebooks and audiobooks through Destiny and MackinViaIn the quake of the crisis, MackinVIA has generously added 7,000+ multiuser ebooks to help students and teachers.  Visit MackinVIA to browse or search for books.  MackinVia is also available as an app that you can download from your device's app store or mackinvia.com. To log into your MackinVIA account, type in Hopewell Elementary and select the one that says "Hopewell Elementary, Oxford", then type in your district username and password. This should be the same as what you use for Clever.  You will have to log into your school account in order to access them.  You can also access MackinVIA through Mrs. Pongracz's Clever page.

    3/30/20

Good morning and welcome to our third week of distance learning.  All content areas and pages have updated assignments posted.  Please check each page/link for today's "to-do" list.  And don't forget...

    3/25/20

Good morning and happy Wednesday!   Many more of you have joined SeeSaw, so welcome! Some of you used this tool in prior years, so the rest of us will look to you for help :)  I posted a "fun" assignment for each class in SeeSaw, but these are not required - just something to get us comfortable using it.  If you haven't emailed me yet, please do so.  If you already have, please share this information with your classmates.  I look forward to hearing from you all!

    Riddles

I added a new one...I look forward to your guesses, and am open to suggestions!

    3/24/20

I am so proud that so many of you contacted me yesterday to access SeeSaw.  I am still learning how this tool works, but check it out and we will learn together.  Please send feedback if the different codes are necessary or not.  A "fun" assignment has been added to each class today, just ot get us going. If you haven't emailed me yet, please do so.  If you already have, please share this information with your classmates.  I look forward to hearing from you all!

    3/23/20

Good morning!  I hope this message finds you energetic for the day!  We've added new lessons for most content areas.  I also added Seesaw (app and website) to our list of tools, and have created classes.  This is a fun tool that allows us to interact individually or as a group.  You can ask me questions and I can reply!

There are separate codes for each student, for each class that you have me (Mrs. Krivansky), and there are a number of different ways I can get you signed in.  The fastest way is to send your personal code via email, so when you are ready, please email me and then I will reply with your codes.  Please make sure you include your name in the subject line so I know who you are, and therefore can send you the correct codes for the matching classes. My email address is:  lkrivansky@oxfordasd.org, and I am looking forward to your email!

    3/20/20

    New items!

Mrs. Pongracz is creating a "What are YOU reading?" Slideshow.  Please follow the link below for Mrs. Pongracz's site to participate.  We'd love to SEE what you are reading!

    Students Reading

Plus!  A Riddles page has been added that allows for guesses (in the comments).  Again, please include your first name only.  If you have any suggestions for riddles to add, email them to me and I will upload it.  As always - must be school-appropriate.  Looking forward to some really good groaners!

    3/19/20

Hello everyone! Now that we are back to making assignments, we added a Blog page.  Please feel free to post questions and ideas to that page that are content related.  This page gives us the opportunity to come together as a group to share our thinking virtually.  Always, remember that school rules apply, so use only content related postings and comments, and school-appropriate language.

We also added a page for Franklin, so check back for photos and messages from him.  If you comment on any pages, please include your name until I can figure out how to make the site do it for you :)
