I have been teaching in the Oxford Area School District since 2008.  Before that, I  taught first grade for four years in another district starting in 1999.  I am invested in this district, as I am a resident and have two boys that attend schools here.  Dean and Sean are both actively involved in sports, such as basketball and lacrosse.   

I graduated from Millersville Univeristy in 1998 with a Bachelors degree in Education.  Just about finisehd my Masters in Reading Specialty.   I have worked with children my whole life, from being a nanny, childcare, Big Brother Big Sister, and volunteer work.  

 I strongly believe teaching is a partnership and welcome parents at any time.  I take pride in building a community in our classroom and firmly believe in the Golden Rule.  We hold classroom meetings every Friday that begin with compliments.  Compliments about our character not materialistic things.  The meeting then addresses the students'  problems that have been placed in our problem box throughout the week.  Holding these class meetings builds strategies for solving problems and coping skills.  It also allows for the students' problems to be validated and heard!
