Mrs. Hannum

  Sara Hannum is a 2009 graduate of West Chester University.  During her time at the university, she focused on clarinet, piano, and voice. As a university student, Mrs. Hannum participated in a variety of ensembles, including the West Chester University Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Cantari Donne Select Women's Chorus.  She studied piano under Dr. Pennington as well as Dr. Valetta and clarinet under Dr. Karen Dannessa. In 2016, Mrs. Hannum graduated with an M.S. in Educational Development and Strategies from Wilkes University. 

     Upon graduation, Mrs. Hannum spent her first year teaching General Music and Chorus in the School District of Philadelphia.  She then moved to the Oxford Area School District in 2010 where she began teaching General Music and directing the three choral groups at Hopewell Elementary School.  In 2021, she transferred up to the OAHS where she began teaching piano, choir and music history.  Mrs. Hannum also works with the OAHS Marching Hornets Colorguard, co-directs the musicals and is a co-advisor for the Tri-M Music Honor Society.   

 In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hanging out with her chickens, and hiking with her husband, kids and dog.  Mrs. Hannum can't live without coffee and chocolate, and she loves watching The Office.
